Frequently asked
How do I save a link to MaybeLater?
From any app, tap Share and choose MaybeLater. It opens straight into the add-bookmark flow and fills in the page's title, thumbnail, and description for you. You can also open the app and paste or type a URL to add one manually.
My reminders aren't showing up.
Make sure notifications are enabled for MaybeLater in your device Settings, and that battery optimization isn't preventing background work. Reminders are scheduled to survive reboots, but aggressive power-saving modes on some devices can delay them. A reminder stays pending only until it fires.
Why don't I see AI summaries?
On-device summaries use Gemini Nano, which is only available on certain newer Android devices. If your device doesn't support it, the summary feature is hidden and tagging uses a local fallback instead. You can also toggle the AI features in Settings under Automation.
How does cloud backup work? Is it safe?
Backup is optional and off by default. When you turn it on, backups are end-to-end encrypted on your device (using a key derived from your app passcode) and stored in your own Google Drive, so I never see them. You'll need to set the app lock/passcode first. Removing the passcode disables cloud sync, since the key depends on it. Note that a forgotten passcode can't be recovered, so keep it safe.
How do I back up or move my data without the cloud?
Use Export in Settings to save your bookmarks to a file, either plain JSON or a password-encrypted file. On another device (or after reinstalling), use Import and MaybeLater will auto-detect whether the file is encrypted or plain.
How do I delete my data?
Delete individual bookmarks in the app at any time, or uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data from your device. If you used cloud backup, you can also delete the backup files from your Google Drive.
Which devices are supported?
MaybeLater runs on Android 10 (API level 29) and newer, on both phones and tablets.
